Welcome to the new R-O-Matic Italian/English Dictionary

Enter the word you are looking for, then click on Italian/English for an Italian word to be translated in English, and on English/Italian for an English word to be translated in Italian.

The Clear search button will clear up the input field.

Note that, by default, the search will match any entry containing the word you typed. So, for example, an English/Italian search for 'kiss' will match any word containing kiss, like kiss and to kiss.

If you want an exact match or you are looking for all the words starting with a particular sequence of character, check the appropriate box (Exact match or Starts with).

As a nice plus, if you leave the input field empty and click on one of the search buttons, you will get the full dictionary sorted by Italian or English words, depending on where you clicked.

I hope you liked this Dictionary. It's still quite empty, but I'll work on that.

This dictionary (almost) complies with the Basic Vocabulary in a Foreign Language and it now contains around 1700 words (as July, 4 1999).

Now you can add words that are not yet in the dictionary. Write the Italian word in the field labelled Italian and the English word in the field labelled English. Then click on Add new word.

The words will not be immediately inserted in the dictionary, so be patient.

Note: This dictionary is not going to contain words that certain people may consider offensive, so please don't bother sending them. You will save your and my time.
